My HCI student improved from D in J1 WA1 to A in 2024 promo

My HCI J1 student joined my group tuition after Weighted Assessment 1. She improved from 50% in WA1 to 76% in 2024 J1 promo.

Instead of doing past VJC prelim to prepare for VJC prelim, we did the harder HCI, RI and NY prelim. She got A for VJC 2024 prelim (80-100 percentile)

So it is not compulsory to do past own school prelim. My TMJC student also got A in 2024 prelim by doing the harder HCI, RI and NY prelim in the same group tuition.

My NYJC student scored full marks in J1 WA2, in vectors lines and planes, the hardest pure maths topic. He is doing online group tuition.

My VJC scored A (80-100 percentile) in 2024 J2 MYE. The cohort average is 52.9%. Before the MYE, we have already finished the syllabus and doing prelim papers.

Changes in h2 maths syllabus for J1 2024

2024 J1 students taking h2 maths alevel in 2025 will be affected by the changes in syllabus.

My VJC student scored A for 2024 J2 Mar CT

My VJC student scored 60/80 (75%, A) for J2 Mar CT. Usually most VJC students don’t do well for J2 Mar CT because it was before the mar 1 week holiday, so most students don’t have time to finish all the school practice papers and topical revision. She only did 1 practice paper plus a few selected questions from the remaining 2 papers.

By 16 Mar 2024, we have covered until Discrete Random Variable in the group tuition. The plan is to finish the whole syllabus before end of June holiday.
